Park your car at the (now closed) Bride View Bar & Bistro on the N72. Now walking, take the lower road parallel to the Bride River. This part of the walk gradually rises, and a magnificent view of the Bride River and the Bride Valley unfold before you. Continue along this road until you meet a fork in the road. Signposts for Monatrim will direct you to the right.
Take this right-hand fork. The road will continue to rise, offering wonderful views north across the Blackwater Valley toward Lismore, the Vee Gap and the Knockmealdown Mountains, and south over the Bride Valley and the Bride River hinterland.
After a short distance, you will arrive at a junction. Turn left and descend through the winding, wooded roads for 2km.
Take the first turn left. This will take you up a gradually rising road, providing superb views of the valley and, at the signpost for Monatrim, eventually rejoining the road on which you began your journey. Continue straight ahead here, ignoring the road to the right, and bringing you back to your starting point.
