At the point at which you park your car, there is a sweeping view over the glen through which the Araglin River flows. It is extensively forested and bordered by moorland on its western side. From this vantage point can be seen a green, unplanted mound indicated on the map as Seemochuda (Suidhe Mhocuda). Canon Power, professor of archaeology at University College Cork from 1915-1932, investigated this Ogham Stone discovery site. The Ogham Stone is thought to be one of the oldest in the country and, in order to protect it from weather, it is now kept in UCC.
