Cork Young Filmmakers, (CYF), are coming to Mallow during Mid-Term Break to deliver training as part of this innovative countywide programme for young filmmakers. Cork County Council provide funding and support to provide these opportunities to young people. Since 2006 this creative and engaging programme, which is suitable for young people, age 12-21, has worked with over 1,000 young people developing their experience, skills and confidence in front of and behind the camera.

Young filmmakers working as a group will learn and enhance film making techniques. You will script your own drama, shoot the scenes, act, direct and crew a short film under the guidance of professional filmmakers from Cork Film Centre.

Applications are now open. No experience is necessary, but early booking is essential as places are strictly limited.

CYF are delighted to work with CDYS, who will host the workshop to provide this opportunity to young people from the Mallow area.

Places will be offered on a ‘first come’ basis and are strictly limited to 12.

Your film will be premiered on the big screen at a Gala Event hosted by Cork County Council on November 25th at Vertigo, Cork County Hall, Cork. In addition, the film will also be submitted to the First Cut! Youth Film Festival 2017 in Youghal, Co. Cork.  All workshop participants will be invited to these events and will receive a copy of their film.
