The Towards Occupation Programme is a training initiative coordinated by Avondhu Blackwater Partnership Ltd., and co-funded by the Department of Social Protection. The Programme, currently running in Fermoy, is based in Fermoy Community Youth Centre, where the participants are undertaking FETAC level 5 Personal Effectiveness in the Workplace.
As part of their FETAC course requirements the group have designed and created a bookmark depicting a magnificent image of the River Blackwater, which they will be selling locally in the coming weeks. All proceeds from the sale of the bookmarks will be presented to the Blackwater Search and Rescue Unit, Fermoy.
Over the next two weeks support will be sought from local businesses to display and sell the bookmarks, ahead of Thursday 4th June, when the group participants will sell them on Fermoy’s main streets. The bookmarks are priced at €2 each and would be a beautiful gift for family or friends living or working abroad.
All support towards this project is greatly appreciated, by the programme participants and ultimately by Blackwater Search & Rescue Unit, which provides a very valuable service in Fermoy and surrounding areas. We hope that all members of the local community will support this initiative.
