The inaugural Cork Walking Week will take place from Sat May 16th to Sunday May 24th 2015. The week-long celebration of walking will take place throughout Cork and cater for people interested in getting active and out and about with their local walking group. The concept of the week stems from the previously successful Cork Walking Month where over 2,000 people took part in 2013. 13 Community Walking Groups across Cork city and county will host a number of walks throughout the week/weekend for people to get involved in. 23 Walks in total are scheduled to take place along some of Corks most scenic routes. The walks are designed to be safe, fun, enjoyable and suitable for beginners. A limited amount of fitWALK taster sessions will also take place during the week for people to get involved in. The Fitwalk Taster Sessions focus on giving participants a taste of how to improve their physical fitness through walking. All 23 walks are FREE and there is a €5 charge/person for the fitWALK taster sessions (booking is required for both the walks and fitWALK taster sessions) Attached is a poster that you can circulate to anyone you feel might be interested or display it in your centre/organisation.
