Following a meeting of the Cork County Council 1916 Centenary Commemorative Committee on Monday 8th February 2016, the 1916 Centenary Fund, is now receiving applications. Monies have been made available by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and by Cork County Council for the 2016 Initiative in the County of Cork. A significant proportion of the 2016 Centenary Budget has already been allocated to close to one hundred of the County’s community groups who are undertaking a range of projects and events locally. There has since been considerable demand by groups for additional funding, and although limited, Cork County Council is now running with a second phase of the 1916 Centenary Fund. This second phase is open to all new applicants looking to engage locally in the 2016 initiative this year as well as existing applicants looking to add further detail and elements to projects and events already proposed. Please note that there are limits to the amount of funding available and not all applications may be successful. Please note that the closing date for applications is 4pm, Friday 26th February 2016, to be sent to: Conor Nelligan, ‘Ireland 2016’ Cork County Coordinator, Cork County Council, Floor 3, County Hall, Cork or by email to The application form itself can be downloaded by clicking 1916 Centenary Fund Application Form.
