Community Connect
Blackwater Community Connect is a Telephone Befriending Programme available to older people who may feel lonely or isolated, especially those who live in rural and remote communities in North Cork and its surrounding areas. Carers as well as people with disabilities and mental health issues are also invited to use the programme.
Confidential Telephone Service
Blackwater Community Connect offer a Regular Telephone Service. Contact will be made, at times to be agreed with recipients of the service. The programme offers:
- Medical Appointments reminders
- Information on Available Services
- Assistance with Form Filling
The telephone service operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Moblie Handyman Service
A Mobile Handyman service is also available to carry out those tasks that are just beyond your reach. As people age their ability to stay independent may be hindered because of the small household jobs that never get done to make them safe in their home. Should you need assistance with household/garden tasks then our Mobile Handyman is available. Our Handyman is Trustworthy, Security Checked, Health & Safety Trained and Fully Insured when entering your premises and this will give peace of mind to people who may be fearful of contracting outside services.
The Mobile Handyman provides minor plumbing, moving furniture, power hosing footpaths, fitting door locks, cleaning gutters, changing light bulbs, fitting smoke alarms, gardening and general maintenance.
